you must have missed the huge potential offered by variety. It
would be great to find a commen ground on which such a system
could be build.

Try to restrict your lines to less then 195 characters. 60 to 70
work well for most.

Obviously a debian openbsd in its final, perfected and completly
debianized way will be able to have that, if that is so desired. 
*That* is on of the strengths of debian.
