ITP: bigwig -- high-level programming language for developing web services

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

Package: bigwig
Architecture: any
Description: high-level programming language for developing web services
Complete specifications are compiled into a conglomerate of
lower-level technologies such as HTML, CGI Scripts, JavaScript, HTTP
 Authentication, and Java Applets.
 .
The goal is to remove many of the obstacles that face current developers
of Web services to lower cost while increasing functionality and
reliability, compared to CGI/Perl scripts, ASP, or PHP based solutions.
The <bigwig> language is an intellectual descendant of the MAWL
project, inheriting the concepts of sessions and document templates.
 .
The <bigwig> language is really a collection of tiny domain-specific
languages focusing on different aspects of interactive web services. To
minimize the syntactic burdens, these contributing languages are held
together by a C-like skeleton language. Thus, <bigwig> has the look
and feel of C-programs but with special data- and control-structures.
