Tell me, how would you do a 100 giga-database which needs to be
online 24/7 ?
Here's some buzzwords.
- redundant powersupplyes.
- RAID-5 if you need speed use Raid-0 and mirror a pair of those.
- Hot spares on line.
- Hot swappable.
IMHO, Any raid without hotswapping is good for news-spools where nothing
is lost if disk breaks. (duck)
