Debconf broken?!
I've sent this to the debconf-specific list, but the only response I
received was one that didn't apply. I'm having a severe problem right now
with my installation system. Instead of describing it in words, here's
what a session looks like. (Note: At this point, because of the problems,
I'm attempting to reinstall debconf itself, so that's the package you'll
see)
dominia:~# dpkg --configure -a
Setting up debconf (0.5.49) ...
GET debconf/preconfig
(pressed enter, since nothing's happening)
dpkg: error processing debconf (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
The solution that was suggested was to remove cdebconf. Unfortunately,
when the problems started I did so, and it was not installed by the time I
asked for help. Does anyone have any idea what I could do to get my system
working again?
