It often seems to be more a case of prioritising what gets fixed - it's
not that the bug is not being taken seriously but rather that other bugs
are being looked at first.

I've sometimes felt that there ought to be a bug severity meaning
something like "I'd be embarrassed to release this package in this state"
for cases where the package is usable but there's some glaring problem
with it that ought to be fixed before a release.
