 Are you going to package Kino, too?  (in order to play the output of
 dvgrab, the only other possibility that comes to mind xmovie, and I'm
 not sure if it plays AVIs (well, some sort of AVI at least) or if it's
 limited to MPEG streams only)

instead of that you might want to look at gvplay. the creators of each are
planning to work together and bring the two programs together. check out
