I've build a list of all those /var/lib/dpkg/<alternative-files>,
took all corresponding update-alternatives calls out of 
/var/lib/dpkg/info/<packagename>.postinst, ran them and 
deleted the files in /var/lib/dpkg. (All this with dpkg v1.7.1, of course)

Is this a proper way of cleaning up respectavely do
other things result from the dpkg 1.7.0 bug?
