In debian/control, the Architecture field allows either "all", "any", or a list of arches (from 4.2.3 in the Packaging Manual). I'm wondering why the ! notation from build dependencies hasn't also been taken up here. For example: Architecture: !i386 !alpha should be equivalent to "any", but not i386 or alpha. Otherwise you must explicitly list all the valid arches. -itai
