You're expected to know what's up, don't just go installing packages
automatically just because you wanna upgrade... you shoudl be following
appropriate information sources, especially including the source code
itself. Woody is ALLOWED to be unstable. You suggesting it should be
automatically frozen from time to time?
Such a freeze would represent a layer of protection not unlike the "stable/
unstable" dichotomy existing now. Suppose something breaks in the layer you
propose... wanna add a third layer? will each layer represent a group of
maintainers developing for people using the layer closer to the dist?
There is the bug tracking system... track that... read source code...
read mailing lists... read ITPs and changelogs... read about intent
on the part of the maintainer...
