I'm at Istanbul now, unale to answer comprehensively.
I will send some bookmarks  to this list, although you can also find some
stuff at URI http://www.dmoz.org if that's the correct addy for open

OTOH, I think you should really get hold of a parallel programming
textook if you want to get started the right way. Only then you can
properly analyze the time complexity, speedup, scalability of your
programs. The textbook I suggested is a good one.
