Linuxconf or Webmin - pros and cons
Hallo,
I don't want to start a flame war, but...
I just try to find out the better solution for me. Is this
listing correct? Do some of you have more important points?
Also, it would be nice to compare this to coas and yast.
Linuxconf Webmin
Not Linux-only yes (new) yes (for a long time)
ASCII interface yes yes, via lynx (looks not perfect)
Web interface yes yes (as the name suggests)
X interface yes yes, via Mozilla
API for modules yes, complex? yes, simple?
Interface to apt no no, only RPM etc.
Leaves comments sometimes yes
sendmail support yes ?
exim support no no
postfix support no yes
wuftpd support ? yes
apache support ? yes
crond support ? yes
net config support ? not for Debian
access control yes yes
included in Debian yes no
But, as always in Debian-land, we might just have linuxconf
AND webmin AND coas AND yast. Hm, maybe not yast.
Cheers, and thanks in advance for your comments,
