Re: Making dpkg-gencontrol behave....



I think you are confusing source version numbers (detailed in the
changelog) with the individual packages built by the source.

In the master control file each separate paragraph (after the source
paragraph) describes one binary package, along with its version number.
You get gencontrol to "do the right thing" by passing it the package name
from the master control file. It then uses this paragraph to generate the
proper control info for the package.

If I have missed your point, then the only answer I have for you is to
separate out each source into its own source package and build them
separate from the libraries.
