I don't know if he has to upgrade apt first when upgrading from slink
to potato.

Well, I would but I don't know what to put it at.

Do we provide compatability apt packages for folks upgading from old
versions, such as what we did with
http://http.us.debian.org/debian/dists/slink/main/upgrade-2.0-i386/
and
http://http.us.debian.org/debian/dists/slink/main/upgrade-older-i386/
?

Even though I am initiating this discussion, I have no time to handle
documentation and any code required for upgrading.  Discussions about
this should probably go to debian-doc or debian-devel or some such.  I
do know that Josip <joy@debian.org> has been the one maintaining the
release notes so far.
