I've asked in the past for this to be included, but every time I've
been denied, and just told that you should set the XAUTHORITY
environment variable when you su to root to the path of the
.Xauthority file of the user who started X.

So I know this isn't a very good workaround, but it's the best we can
do unless someone can convince Branden otherwise. Our PAM package
needed some patching to even get the pam_xauth module to work, but
thankfully that's been incorporated. So you could compile it on your
own, if you wanted.
