I do that on machines I setup for clients. That way I can get someone to
read the logs to me without having to login.
One problem I once had is that someone pressed ^S which locked output to the
console, which blocked the syslogd process, then daemons which tried logging
things stopped...
I haven't checked whether this bug still exists...
