Hmmm. /etc/terminfo/x contains lots of xterm-* things. Maybe I am not
using the right TERM. I changed to xterm-xfree just now, and the immediate
impression I am getting is that I cannot reproduce the problem. Of course,
the error is sporadic, so it may just be good luck that is causing it!
Anyway, what are all these xterm-* terminfo files for? And why are there
loads more in /usr/share/terminfo/x ? Loads of otmistic looking ones,
e.g. xterm-xf86-v40 and the like. Why does everything in Unix have to be
so complicated (sigh).
