Broken kernel-package?

I can not imagine that kernel-package is terribly corrupted.
Any idea, why that happened?

# make-kpkg clean
/usr/share/kernel-package/rules:430: *** extraneous `endif'.  Stop.

I'm using:

# dpkg --status kernel-package
Package: kernel-package
Status: install ok installed
Priority: optional
Section: misc
Installed-Size: 457
Maintainer: Manoj Srivastava <srivasta@debian.org>
Version: 6.30
Depends: perl5, dpkg (>= 1.4), dpkg-dev (>=, fileutils (>= 3.16-4)
Recommends: libc-dev, gcc, debianutils, make

Kind regards
