util-linux: bug#54978 can be closed
Hello,
IMHO bug#54978 can be closed, and I think that the fact it has been forwarded
upstream results from a mistake.
The bug reports that the use of `kbdrate' by a non privilegied user can mess
the rates. The fix proposed is to remove the suid.
This is not an upstream problem. And this is not a problem either :
`kbdrate' is *not* suid root. A normal user can't open /dev/port.
So I can't see where the problem is.
I suggest to close the bug
Any advice ?
TIA
