The ip I have installed shows ipv6 stuff - are you sure you have ipv6
compiled in or loaded? It doesn't show up if the module isn't there.

I agree that the standard network scripts we supply should continue
to use ifconfig / route; I just wanted to address the misconception
the ip wasn't able to do something ifconfig could (it actually does 
add lots of features - queue discipline, transmit queue length, a
better integrated tunnel control, the ability to rename interfaces,
integrated multicast support).
