John H Conway is a mathematician at Princeton's Institute for Advanced
Studies. He likes to factor large (by our standards... not a computer's)
numbers in his head, as well as other amazing if mostly useless tricks of
trivial arithmetic like telling you that march 4th 1494 was a tuesday. rumor
has it that his .login has required him to do these things (actually i only
heard about the dates, but it was from a reliable source and i am inclined
to believe about the factoring) several times and reported his statistics.
