The trick is making tables.
The "official" way of making tables (something with a column organization)
for man involves including directives for tbl. This involves subtleties
which aren't well documented in free software documentation.
Personally, I gave up writting man pages "the hard way" a long time ago.
Instead, I use pod (man perlpod), and put a pod2man line in the makefile
to assign appropriate title and section headers.
And, yeah, for column organized stuff you just use preformatted (verbatim)
paragraphs under pod.
