Re: Unofficial Y2K update for slink.

According to info available, GNATS (a bug tracking system) in slink is
not Y2K compliant. What should I do about it? Possible choices are:

1. To fix the very old sources in slink. I don't plan to do this, since
it's of no interest to me to search what the problems were and how
they were fixed, nor to test the fixed version.

2. To compile the current potato version for slink. It's impossible,
since it's currently too much potato dependent.

3. To port some older potato version for slink. Probably the best
solution, though such a slink version would be rather untested.

4. To ignore the problem at all and to recommend GNATS users to upgrade
to potato if they encounter any serious problem with it. Not much
nice to users, but very nice to the maintainer. :-)

Do you agree I should try 3.? If so, should I upload it for stable?
