Problems with debconf, wwwoffle, acct
Hey.
I'm writing to d-devel instead of filing a bug report because I don't
know which package is the one that causes the trouble..
During the last potato (dist-)upgrade there were problems with
configuring wwwoffle -- it hung and I had to Ctrl-C it.
Then I read on debian-devel about a similar problem concerning debconf
(and acct). So I dpkg --purge'd debconf, but then wwwoffle's
installation script produced an error saying something like
"/usr/share/debconf/... file not found". Shouldn't wwwoffle depend on
debconf then?
So I installed debconf again -- and additionally acct. After that,
apt-get install wwwoffle worked fine.
Conclusion:
- wwwoffle should depend on debconf!? Or otherwise its configure script
is buggy.
- debconf (or wwwoffle) should depend on acct!?
versions of the packages I used:
- debconf 0.2.34
- wwwoffle 2.5b-1
- acct 6.3.5-16
Maybe someone else (who understands better what was going on) could file
an appropriate bug report.
Ciao.
