(a) Don't expect all maintainers to notice announcements on -devel.
    Announcements belong on -devel-announce, or, in a case like this,
    bug reports and/or emails to the relevant developers.

(b) devscripts hasn't used ncftp since version 2.0.0, 7 Jan 1999
    (according to the changelog).  That's a *long* time ago.  It's
    used ftp since then, so has correctly depended upon netstd.
