I ran the old mutt in an xterm and I REALLY had big problems. From the
changelog:

  * Mutt is linked with slang again (closes: #47677, #47956, #48404).
    Short summary: mutt+ncurses in xterms causes wrong colors, does not
    update the screen near thread arrows, does unneeded screen redrawings.


I will never compile mutt with ncurses until these ugly bugs will be
fixed.
