In addition to everything that's already been said, policy already
mentions echo -n 10 times in examples, so in a sense policy already
endorses this optional aspect of the POSIX standard.

However, because I'm tired of this subject, I've proposed a less than
one sentence change to policy to explicitly require echo -n support
from /bin/sh
