Do you mean here that nobody writes /bin/sh scripts?

But the fact that scripts aren't compliant does not mean that the shell
should break them even more,
and break those who are compliant as well.
I have /bin/sh linked to ash. I've found bashisms in others people
scripts a couple of times. Usually
they weren't aware of it, and easily willing to fix it.
