ever sense i installed debian 2.1 i have not been able to play quake or
use any program link with libc5. ( yes i have libc5 install for oldlibs )
i get "Segmentation Fault".

im able to use quake under an distribution thats using libc5 that is also
install on my computer ( dual booting ) so i mounted it on /rfs and put
the /rfs/lib in ld.so.conf and quake worked.

ldd output on squake
        libm.so.5 => /rfs/lib/libm.so.5 (0x4000b000)
        libvga.so.1 => /rfs/lib/libvga.so.1 (0x40014000)
        libc.so.5 => /rfs/lib/libc.so.5 (0x4005c000)

i remove /rfs/lib from ld.so.conf, remove the libc5 package and
copyed libc.so.5*, libm.so.5* and libvga.so.1* to /lib/libc5-compat
because its empty and all read in ld.so.conf -- quake worked.

ldd output on squake
        libm.so.5 => /lib/libc5-compat/libm.so.5 (0x4000a000)
        libvga.so.1 => /lib/libc5-compat/libvga.so.1 (0x40013000)
        libc.so.5 => /lib/libc5-compat/libc.so.5 (0x4005b000)

remove libvga.so.1 - quake segment faults .

ldd output on squake
        libm.so.5 => /lib/libc5-compat/libm.so.5 (0x4000a000)
        libvga.so.1 => /usr/lib/libvga.so.1 (0x40013000)
        libc.so.5 => /lib/libc5-compat/libc.so.5 (0x4005f000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x4011f000)
        libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x401c4000)
        ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x401dd000)

so i put libvga.so.1 removed libc.so.5 and libm.so.5 and reinstalled the
libc5 package -- quake works.

ldd output on squake
        libm.so.5 => /lib/libm.so.5 (0x4000a000)
        libvga.so.1 => /lib/libc5-compat/libvga.so.1 (0x40013000)
        libc.so.5 => /lib/libc.so.5 (0x4005b000)

ldd output on /lib/libc5-compat/libvga.so.1
        libc.so.5 => /lib/libc.so.5 (0x40052000)
        libm.so.5 => /lib/libm.so.5 (0x40110000)

ldd output on /usr/lib/libvga.so.1
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x4004c000)
        libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x400f1000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x2aaaa000)

im guessing its something to to /usr/lib/libvga.so.1 using libc6 thats
causing the segmentation fault.
