Great that the bugs are fixed I reported, thanks a lot!
Btw, bug#33658 can be closed or reassigned to dpkg-iwj or however you handle
that.
I hate to disappoint you, though. There are still some issues. Some were
reported earlier:
#31620:
* scripts/dpkg-divert and update-alternatives: Don't hardcode ENOENT!
#41576:
* dpkg-deb/Makefile.am: Fix LOCALEDIR for cross-compilation.
* dselect/Makefile.am: Likewise.
* man/Makefile.am: Likewise.
* md5sum/Makefile.am: Likewise.
* split/Makefile.am: Likewise.
And some are not reported because I don't have a clever idea yet what to do
about them. But maybe you have:
Critical:
* archtable does not support Hurd (same problem has apt, btw).
* scripts/dpkg-divert and update-alternatives: Don't hardcode ENOENT!
Problematic:
* scripts/dpkg-shlibdeps.pl: Fix problem with libraries residing
somehwere else than in /lib. (Because the /usr -> . symlink confuses
stuff). I have a patch for that, but I need to revise it before
confronting you with this hack.
* debian/shlibs.default.i386: libc6 -> libc0.2
(will probably be resolved together with archtable)
Cross-Compiling:
* dpkg-architecture support in rules file for cross compiling.
Checking if they are available and setting --build and --host and
--with-arch to configure is sufficient.
As soon as those issues are fixed, i have one Hurd bug left, which may or
may not be fixed (has something to do with patch and -b option, very
obscure). Anyway, it seems that we're coming closer. I will open a bottle of
champaign the day I can compile the "upstream" dpkg again, and drop the
dpkg-hurd series.
thanks a lot for your fine work on dpkg,
Marcus
