There's more good to be done spending 5 minutes not fixing bugs if it
causes 100 others to fix bugs as well.  Even more ironic is that you
are causing me to spend yet more time addressing your message instead
of fixing them, hmm.

It is indeed ironic that you feel it necessary to resort to personal
attacks in this message.  As you may have been aware, I have just gone 
through a difficult move and encountered severe Internet access
problems in the process that have hampered my efforts on Debian and
other systems in the past 1.5 months.

I am not Superman, even if you think I am.  There is a limit to what I 
can do, between a job, maintaining two dozen packages or so, working
on the alpha port, running an autobuilder, hosting mailing lists for
various Linux-related organizations, etc. I feel that I am more than
sufficiently active in the community and do not need to literally lose 
sleep taking on more responsibility simply to justify the point to you.

That is irrelevant; of course most are not ignored for 800 days but
the fact that some are illustrates a problem with our procedures, and
a serious one at that.

Of course.  I did not say that all maintainers are that way.  Merely
that enough are to cause serious trouble.
