OT: AlphaServer 800 5/500: anybody seen it working?

Hello,

currently I'm trying to get an AlphaServer 800 5/500 booting anything,
including Debian ... but it simple doesn't work.

I'm using the srm console and I've tried several boot images with 

    >>>boot dva0

... but the SRM tells me about 

    IDE Command not successfully terminated
    ST0 = 40
    Missing address mark
