I have been running Postfix for at least the last six months on every
machine possible---including an alpha, so we seem to have pretty good
cross-platform coverage---and I've been very happy.

At the same time, am I wrong in thinking Weitse himself doesn't yet
regards Postfix as totally feature-complete. My impression (and I
haven't been following the postfix list as closely for the last couple
of months) was that there were still things people thought needed
before it could be a drop-in replacement for sendmail or qmail.

At the same time, I also think it makes sense for Debian to recommend
as its default mailer something that's up to handling our listserver's
load---which we can't do with qmail, and none of the other options
seem up to the load. Perhaps before we make this decision we should
be running it on lists.debian.org (or even just master.debian.org,
since that sees a lot of mail from people's @debian.org addresses).
Eating our own dogfood, as the Seattle phrase is said to go.

Mike.
