I've tried it (because I thought the same) and it didn't work brilliantly IMO.

The problem is that you have to put the ``Debian'' somewhere other
than below the swirl, which loses the impression of the Genie
appearing, and leaves you with an impression of something going down a
drain.

Also, most CD labels don't allow you to print on the clear bit in the
middle, so you'll loose the inner swirl.

That does make the whole thing a little pointless though, don't you think ?
