Debian mentioned on Amazon

"Neal Stephenson Loves Linux"

Amazon.com: What's your favorite distribution of Linux?

Stephenson: Debian. It's noncommercial and it's organized. Or, rather,
not organized in the same way Linux itself is. There's one person
responsible for each part of the distribution; for instance, there
might be one person who gets the job of looking after EMACS. So it's
his or her job to maintain a current set of files and keep them in a
package that you can download and unpack and install on your
system. It's kind of decentralized in the same way that Linux is.
