When this was `fixed' was the default behaviour changed? Or was the new
behaviour added as an option? I would not like to think we were changing the
default of an age old tool without some consideration.

Yes, possibly wishlist, but probably not. I could file a couple of bugs
against lynx myself (it does display tables properly), but it would be
pointless. Has this one been forwarded upstream.

mosaic is non-free, is source code avaliable?

Neither does xfig, one of my package. could we have a cron job that e-mails
root when any filesystem is full, or would that not work?

I am sure it does, read the man page. Maybe I ought to read the details to
