ack..sorry about the 3some...it seems write wasn't the only thing to
die...the alias databas part of sendmail decided to fart at the same
time...(well I had just done an update/upgrade...and something in
that batch toppled my sendmail)...

After de-installing sendmail and installing smail things were once
again happy...

I was getting these errors when running newaliases

Cannot open hash database /etc/aliases.db: Invalid argument
WARNING: cannot open alias database /etc/aliases
Cannot create database for alias file /etc/aliases


this also caused errors when trying to send mail

 Cannot open hash database /etc/aliases.db: Invalid argument

ideas?
