libg{tk,lib}1.1 dependencies

i may have missed something somewhere, but according to dselect:

libgtk-perl depends on libglib1.1 (>= 1.1.3-1)
libgtk-perl depends on libgtk1.1 (>= 1.1.2-1)
libglib1.1 does not appear to be available
libgtk1.1 does not appear to be available

many other packages also depend on these libraries, which do not appear
to exist. should libgtk1.1.x provide libgtk1.1 (and ditto for libglib)?
or is there something else i should do?
