Sound/X11 config

I have no idea what so ever! I just saw that someone is working on
porting RH's Xconfigurator (that I used twice, and which impressed
some on me) and that it was a 'quick and dirty hack'...
A propper X11 configure program/script have been lacking in Linux from
the very beginning! And there STILL isn't any!
What impressed me the most the first time I installed Solaris x86 was
the *chugga* *chugga* *chugga* *X11*.
It found the graphic card, monitor and soundcard right away and all
automaticly. It went straight up in X and continued the whole
installation from there. VERY impressive! (That I thought it was crap
when I started to use it, is another story all toghether :)
