We have three solutions suggested now:
a) dummy packages (and live with them)
b) dummy packages, which self-remove
c) packages with the old names, which tinker with dpkg/dselect's databases
so it looks like the new packages are installed instead (which is true,
since they have the same contents).
I suggest the X maintainer choose one.
