AFAIK that was the plan. (Although I'm not the maintainer - Sami Haahtinen
<ressu@rai.rauma.fi> is.)

Nah, if the x11amp people wished to do this they would just re-release 0.7
under the GPL.

Unlicensed software can't be publically distributed. Period.
