Re: Hamm Bug Stamp-Out List for July 5
I'm starting to think these two packages should simply be pulled from
hamm:
23951 ircd: postisnt does not check for errors
[STRATEGY] Johnie will upload a new package with the fixes already made
for slink.
24115 proftpd: does not support NIS
[STRATEGY] Wichert Akkerman submitted a patch which is in the BTS.
Besides the 2 important bugs, there are 6 others for ircd and 11 for
proftpd that are fixable only with the new code in slink. The various
Bugs in ircd aren't even documented anymore (its been bug-free and
unchanged for 2 months because I'd thought 2.10.03 was in hamm); the
bugs in proftpd, and features like the long-awaited support for NIS,
"ls -lR" and "ls */*," required a massive rewrite by the author.
In short the code of 4 months ago is already obsolete, and I'm not
eager to support those packages for the next 6 to 12 months.
