Help me understand this. I need to *install* the debian packages on
this machine in order to seed the /usr/var/dpkg files? My inclination
is to install to an alternate root and link or copy the /usr/var/dpkg
files. I'll look into doing this since it seems to be address the
dependency generation problem.
