Re: creating a .deb with only tar and ar



I tried to *modify* a deb package with ar several weeks ago.
I've found ar terminates member names with '/', but the deb
format uses ' ' instead.  I finally hand-edited several
bytes in the deb package, so that dpkg accepted the package.
