Intent for package: libvdk

Hi,

This is my 2nd call for packaging VDK. I do this as I have found out
that there are maybe others doing this. I've checked the
ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/doc/package-developer/prospective-packages.txt
and there was nobody listed there with vdk. Please tell me if somebody
is already working on vdk.

Gtk + VDK is distributed under LGPL

VDK features

VDK signal/events dispatching strategy makes a clear distinction
between interface and application.

VDK supports properties like moderns RAD tools do, user defined
properties are supported as well.

VDK will track closely Gtk+ development and relies only on Gtk+
stable releases.

VDK has a full documentation and soon a tutorial will be written.

Plans for VDK are to use it as base library for a RAD tool for
Gtk+/GNOME compliant applications.

First alpha of this tool (named VDKBuilder ) is expected to be
released on first quarter 1999.

Using VDK is similar to Borland OWL and/or VCL

VDK distribution

VDK is made of two separated libraries:

- VDK core library, contains all Gtk+ wrapped widgets. Most recent
release is 0.4.2

- VDK components library, contains totally new widgets not present
in Gtk+ and those widget considered not enough stable to be inserted
into core library. Most recent release is 0.2
