JimPick is working on Gnome.  You should get in touch with him and others
at debian-snapshots@lists.debian.org.  Packaging directly out of CVS is
subject of that list.

Personally, I don't like these tools, and I believe that this gets even
worse when auto-generating packages out of CVS in connection with such
tools.
