init scripts time
Recently I've thought that my machines take too long to boot. I've been
having a look at the boot times. Here's one that I think is excessive:
root@ivanova:/etc/rcS.d#time . ./S50hwclock.sh
Local time: Sun Oct 11 04:11:43 EST 1998
real 0m7.643s
user 0m5.710s
sys 0m1.940s
8 seconds to run 2 hwclock commands is IMHO too much as hwclock isn't doing
anything (the /etc/adjtime file contains "0.0 0 0.0"). Is there some reason
that this command needs to take so long?
