Upgrade & Kernel Problems
I upgraded from Debain 1.3.1 to Debain 2.0 (CheapBytes). I used the autoup.sh 0.
32 from www.uk.debian.org. Supprisingly everything went quite smooth (I had to r
un Install and Config several times) and the 2.0 system runs except of a small p
roblem:
When I compile a kernel using
kernel-package
I works, but after rebooting, I see
Loading linux.......
than the screen gets blank and the system reboots.
I have a Tecra 720 CDT and no idea where the problem could come from. I made the
log of make-kpkg available on
http://www.ra.informatik.uni-stuttgart.de/~rainer/Download/make.log
I do not even see a Loading linux......, if I enable the compact option in my li
lo.conf:
boot=/dev/hda
# compact
install=/boot/boot.b
map=/boot/map
delay=20
# Linux
# pcmcia support
image=/vmlinuz-2.0.30
root=/dev/hda2
vga=normal
label=ethernet
read-only
## mit sound support
image=/toshiba
root=/dev/hda2
vga=normal
label=sound
read-only
image=/vmlinuz
root=/dev/hda2
vga=normal
label=linux
read-only
# Win95
other=/dev/hda1
table=/dev/hda
label=win
/vmlinuz is my new glibc2 kernel.
Any ideas, what could be wrong?
Thank you.
