Just to know... the .deb is on ftp.debian.org? A lot of people 
gets new packages there (I don't think the .rpm is on RH ftp site).
RH users are much more used than debian ones to get their software
from the home pages of the developers. Usually I first do a quick
look on debian site for the .deb and then I look for it on the author's
home page...
