21:35:16 $ mount /cdrom -v
/dev/hdc on /cdrom type iso9660 (ro,noexec,nosuid,nodev)
21:35:26 $ eject -ufv
eject: device name is `/dev/cdrom'
eject: `/dev/cdrom' is a link to `/dev/hdc'
eject: CDROMEJECT ioctl failed for `/dev/hdc': Device or resource busy
21:35:37 $ umount /cdrom -v
/dev/hdc umounted
21:35:51 $ eject -v
eject: device name is `cdrom'
eject: `cdrom' is a nickname for `/dev/cdrom'
eject: `/dev/cdrom' is a link to `/dev/hdc'

needless to say on the first eject it failed, on the second it succeded. the
drive is a generic ide atapi 24 speed master on the second channel with a 100mb
hard disk as slave.
