intent to package: vtk, ivmaps
ivmaps: DFSG free
big map making software. Can be built with support for vtk,
which is non-free. Hopefully the support is modular and can be separated.
* What is ivmaps?:
ivmaps provides facilities for map database access and display. It
builds on top of ivtools-0.6, PROJ-4.3, and optionally clippoly. It
supports a variety of terrain databases produced by the United States
Geological Survey (USGS) and National Imagery and Mapping Agency
(NIMA).

There are some patented algorithms. I need to check whether it
can even go in non-free.
Has anyone else started this or looked at it ?
After build, the src tree is 300MB .
